Genre Interview

In this interview, recorded by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Peter Heyworth questions the veteran conductor Otto Klemperer on his views about Arnold Schoenberg, both as composer and as a man.  The conversation develops into an evaluation of many figures in the contemporary music of the time, including Stravinsky, Stockhausen and Boulez.  With his long perspective and ironic sense of humour, Klemperer expresses his views very directly.
