Constance Shacklock remembers working with Erich Kleiber at the Covent Garden Opera

Constance Shacklock remembers Erich Kleiber.

Constance Shacklock, a leading member of the Covent Garden Opera in the years after the war, remembers working with the company and with the conductor Erich Kleiber, for whom she sang Octavian in his 1952 Covent Garden performances.

This recording is not in the Music Preserved collection, but appears by kind permission of Jon Tolansky, to mark the release of the 1952 recording of ‘Der Rosenkavalier’.  Jon Tolansky undertook the interview with Constance Shacklock, of which this is an extract.
