Rafael Kubelik, a well-loved and committed conductor of 20th century music

In this podcast Nigel Simeone explores Rafael Kubelik's live recordings of some of the great works of the 20th century, from Mahler and Debussy to Britten and Messaien, most of which he did not record commercially. He drew affection and commitment from his players, notably in the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, of which he was Chief Conductor from 1961 to 1979.
